6/18/25- matchup between the Plugs and Grays has been scratched due to rain.

6/19/25- Phillies 9 - Goats 2

The Phillies scored 9 unanswered runs, and junkballer Ken Sloat flabbergasted the Goats offense with his crafty repertoire en route to a 9-2 victory.

The Goats struck first when Don Edwards reached on an infield hit, and Tom “TC” Conway on an error. With 2 outs, Mike Martindell lined an RBI double to deep CF and then Jerold Duquette’s grounder in the hole on the left side of the infield was smoothly stopped by SS Yami Baker, whose only play was to 3rd, where Sean “Saint” St. Claire tagged out Martindell, but not before TC crossed the plate. He would be the last Goat to do so.

The Phillies exploded in the 2nd against Goats hurler Tony “Bama” Dismukes. With 1 out, Sloat singled, Jim “Kruk” Fogarty reached on an error and Saint walked. Jon “JR” Ross followed with an RBI single, Paul Kaplan’s screamer to 2B was dropped for an error and 2 runs scored. After a double steal and another out, Miguel “Miggy” Ringler bashed a 2-run double for a 5-2 lead. The Phils tacked on another run in the 3rd when Yami Baker singled, stole 2nd and scored on Andy “AK” Klepacki’s double.

Meanwhile, Sloat allowed just 1 baserunner in each of the next 4 innings, backed by fantastic defense from 1B Stephen Malachite (9 putouts), and 4 putouts in CF by Micah Winston.

The Phils offense effectively put the game out of reach in the 4th, plating 3. Sloat walked, and Kruk & JR singled to load the bases. Kaplan singled in a run, another scored on an E5 and then Ringler drove in his 3rd run of the game with a sac fly.

Colin Hosley came on to pitch in the 6th for the Phils, allowing only 1 hit and fanning 1 in 2 innings.

Top hitters for the Phils were Jim Fogarty (2-3, 2 runs), Andy Klepacki (2-3, double, RBI), Miguel Ringler (1-1, double, SF, 3 RBIs). For the Goats, Pres Pieraccini was 2-3 and Mike Martindell was 1-3 with an RBI double.

6/19/25- Wonders 8 - Isotopes 6

Inning 1. 2. 3. 4. 5. 6. 7. R. H. E

———————————————————

Isotopes 2 0 0 1 1 1 1 6 7 0

Wonders 1 0 7 0 0 0 X 8 15 2

Wonders finally get some breaks during their 7 run third inning rally to hang

on and hold off the Isotopes at the hot & humid Beachgrounds field in

South Hadley Falls.

Arguably, the best two uniformed teams of the league, both classy & genuinely respectful of the sportsmanship of our gentlemanly founded league, deserved to finish the game in a tie.

PITCHERS:

Dave Warner 4 innings

Gary Webber 2 innings

Steve Ostrowski 5 innings WP

Patrick O, 2 innings

Game positives: John P. had the hit of the game, a bases clearing 3 run double. Our two pitchers battled through jams with the help of our defense to only allow a maximum of two runs in an inning. All Wonder hitters except only a measly three had hits in the game.

Overall an outstanding team effort!
