A beautiful night for baseball at Herlihy Park on Wednesday; the Wonders built a big lead early and hung on to survive a couple of late-inning rallies by the Phillies for their third victory of the season.
The Wonders led 8-3 through five innings, but a relentless Phils attack answered with 4 runs in the final two innings to make the game a nail biter.
Wonders starter, Chris Ciepela went the distance, allowing 7 runs on 14 hits.
Jim Healy went 2-2 with a double and a walk, and Scott Taylor had a 3-3 night to lead the Wonders offense.

The Fainting GOATs* combined excellent pitching, steady defense, and timely hitting to muscle past the Plug Uglies Thursday night at School Street Park.
The GOATs* jumped out to a 2 run lead in the second inning off Plugs' starter, Greg Elbaum, and never looked back, en route to a 10-2 victory.
The Plugs scored a pair of runs in the 6th to make it 6-2, but the GOATs* answered with 4 runs of their own in the 7th to seal the "W".
Eddie Esposito, Pres Pieraccini, Todd "Fast Guy" Neumann, and Tom Conway combined to hold the Uglies to 7 hits.
Conway, seemingly in the middle of the action all night long, went 3-3 and made several stellar plays at shortstop.
*In keeping with custom, the Goats are referred to as the GOATs after wins.
