Bobcats 6
Angry Beavers 16
On a beautiful Sunday morning at Anniversary Field in Holyoke, the Bobcats and Angry Beavers faced off in a high-scoring affair. Jerold Duquette took the mound for the Bobcats, while Kenny Sloat started for the Beavers.
The Beavers struck first, scoring three runs in the first inning to take an early lead. They added another run in the second, jumping out to a commanding 4-0 advantage. The Bobcats answered with two runs of their own in the third, narrowing the gap to 4-2.
The Beavers responded swiftly with three runs in the bottom of the third and three more in the fourth, extending their lead to 10-2, but the crushing blow came in the fifth when they tacked on five more runs, effectively putting the game out of reach.
The Bobcats managed to score a run in the sixth and rallied with three more in the seventh, but the damage had already been done. The final score was 16-6 in favor of the Angry Beavers.
The Beavers' offensive attack was led by Stu Clark, Jim "Kruk" Fogarty, and Pat Olearcek, who each collected three hits. Paul "Kappy" Kaplan went 3-4 with two runs scored, leading the Cats' effort.

Holyoke Millers 2
Hitchcocks 25
The undefeated Hitchcocks’ offense exploded for 32 hits en route to a convincing win over a short-handed Millers squad. The first 6 Hitchcocks batters singled, plating 3 runs – all they would need for the victory. Meanwhile hurlers Jeff Whitehead and Morriss Partee combined to allow 2 hits in 5 innings while their offense built an 18-0 lead, scoring 6 in the first and 9 in the fourth, aided by a significant number of Millers’ errors.
Every member of the 13 Hitchcocks had a hit and scored a run and only 2 didn’t have RBIs. Partee led the way going 5-5 with 4 RBIs, Micah Winston & Whitehead each had 4 hits, Stephen Higgins had a pair of 2-run doubles and Scott Dunaisky scored 4 times, to lead the offensive onslaught.
Steve Ostrowski scored both Millers runs, and Michael Arbour had a pair of hits, including a booming RBI double.
