The Plug Uglies, searching for their first win, faced the Phillies at Herlihy Park Wednesday night.
The Plugs started strong, plating 7 runs in the top of the first off Phillies starter, J.R. Ross, capped by a 2-run, bases loaded single from Chris Scanlon.
The Phillies responded with 3 runs of their own in the bottom of the 1st with RBI hits from Andy Klepacki and Paul "Griz" Griswold, and were threatening for more with two on base when the Uglies executed a rare 4-3-2 double play, cutting down the Phils' Colin Hosley at the plate.
The Phillies would play catch-up the rest of the night as the Uglies continued to add to their lead.
Jeff Cabana (4-4, 2 SB) and Jeff Whitehead (3-4, SB) led the Plug'ly offense.
Morris Partee, Greg "G-Bomb" Elbaum, and Jeff Whitehead pitched for the Plugs. Colin Hosley pitched in relief for the Phillies.
Final score: Plug Uglies 11, Phillies 7.

The Dorian Grays spanked The Wonders on an overcast night Thursday at Herlihy Field in Whately.
Dorian Grays starter Chris "Nacho" Bernacki struck out 6 through 5 innings and Jay "Supe" Sadowski pitched an inning of perfect relief.
Wonders starter Rick Stacy struck out 4 and walked two over 5.
Tim "Zig" Sigda (3-4, 2B) led the Grays offense.
Five Wonders errors along with ten timely solid Grays hits, sealed the win for The Grays.
Wonders reserve Jim Healy gave up 3 runs in the top of the sixth walking two, striking out one, while giving up only one hit and a costly error on a ground out to short.

The Isotopes defeated the Fainting Goats Thursday night at School Street Park.
Leading 1-0 after two innings, the Isotopes peppered Goats starter Eddie Esposito with 5 runs in the third to bolster their lead and seal the victory.
'Topes starter, Gary Webber was dominant again, not allowing a hit through the first three innings, scattering five hits over 7, and striking out 6.
The Goats cut the deficit to 6-2 in the 5th, but another Isotopes rally in the sixth put the game out of reach.
Goats relievers, Tom "TC" Conway and Todd "Fast Guy" Neumann turned in strong performances in relief for the Goats.
Scott Dunaisky led the 'Topes offense, going 2-3 with a double.
